AIRSOFT MINIGUN, Mini or Mighty?

Interested in AIRSOFT war games? If you are then you need to get some standard AIRSOFT weapons such as assault rifles, sub machine guns, snipers and light machine guns. However, there is a very interesting addition to these guns (and also my favorite) which is the AIRSOFT MINIGUNS. These are commonly custom patterned and much more heavy than the regular ammos in AIRSOFT battle games. The very first of its kind is the Asahi MINIGUN; a lot has come out after that design which has many varieties.

Using the Gatling gun criterion, AIRSOFT MINIGUN’s rate of fire is super high. IT ranges from more than 1000 rounds/minute to a colossal of 2000 rounds/minute. And a shooting rate of 500-700 fps. This Gatling gun criterion is a system wherein 6 highly charged revolving barrels more uniformly in a single firing line. This give each barrel to cool down appropriately before resuming the next round and it also helps to avoid any jams commonly experienced with other high powered ammos.

The AIRSOFT MINIGUN use large BBS made of steel. And it can shoot of up to 50 rounds per second. Approximately equal to the shooting rate of 12,000 rounds per minute. These are also powered by electricity and carbon dioxide; electricity is responsible to the barrel rotation of this MINIGUN.

These AIRSOFT MINIGUNs might look larger, maybe it is because it has to do with the barrel length. The firing mechanism of these MINIGUNS is a bit small and compressed. In fact, these are mostly for showmanship. The actual ammunition is quite heavy and very awkward to hold onto, besides the fact that it comes extracted from big ammos boxes and put into a metal ramp so it can give a consistent fire streams. And due to its heaviness, this is not particularly handled by a single person alone. The coined term MINIGUN refers to the Gatling style, not very particular or accurate to the “gun” definition as handheld. For this AIRSOFT MINIGUN is usually mounted on an ammo tripod.

The name “mini-gun” came from the original designer and gun manufacturer, General Electric. They only used this to demarcate the type of ammunition from same models that uses large shells.

Producing these AIRSOFT MINIGUNS replica has only been the popular and undisputed Echo 1. No one has ever competed because of its size and weight. But considering the impressive specifications and features of this type of MINIGUN, it is quite mind blowing to even think of. But if you still haven’t bought it, it is a must to include in your AIRSOFT artillery collection.
